All Barrel Saunas are constructed in Latvia using sustainable Siberian Pine. This slow-grown pine has been treated in Finland with heat and steam to produce ThermoWood which is more stable than softwood and improves its durability, both of which help to lower maintenance. Our workmanship coupled with the highest quality of timber and materials, ensures that these Barrel Saunas are built to last. Service life of up to 30 years

ThermoWood is a beautiful, sustainable wood material produced by using natural methods, heat and steam.

It is dimensional stable, resistant to decay, resin free and has the wood aroma that we all love

Quality Through Craftsmanship. How a sauna performs is dependent on the design and the quality of the materials being used. Timber Art Saunas are designed to deliver the authentic and traditional sauna experience. By combining the best in materials and equipment with handcrafted construction our saunas create an outstanding sauna experience.

Efficiency by Design. The barrel design of the Timber Art saunas provides exceptional air circulation. The heat from the sauna rocks rises and forces the heat at the top of the sauna back down the walls, allowing a barrel sauna to heat faster. Our saunas are made from Siberian Pine, this Thermally modified pine is the ideal lumber for outdoor saunas. In addition to being naturally resistant to moisture, thermowood is extremely soft, making it a great insulator.

Sauna ventilation forms the basis for a good climate in your sauna. As sauna bathers know, a sauna needs to have proper air flow when using the sauna.  This is both for the flow of fresh air into the sauna and to facilitate movement of the air within the sauna.

Timber Art Sauna have a vent below the heater on one end of the sauna, and then another vent high in the sauna on the opposite wall.  The rising heat will escape from the top vent and be replaced with fresh air that was drawn into the sauna from the lower vent.  The constant flow of air keeps fresh air coming in while allowing the heater to maintain the overall temperature of the room.

Timber Art saunas further enhance the venting process by having an extra large vent on the top that can be adjusted to restrict the air movement to the user’s desire.  During heat-up, for example, the vent can be fully closed to allow the sauna to heat faster, and then opened when the sauna is being used.  Additionally, a louvered vent cover is placed on the lower vent preventing insects and rodents from entering the sauna if it is located outdoors.  The attention to construction quality and function extends to the smallest details in each Sauna!

Only natural material & eco wood paint colors are used in the construction process. For the exterior we use stain colors what giving a perfect color palette and let the natural wood shine through. At the same time do not lose the ability to protect the wood from the effects of the outdoor environment. Tikkurila Supi Sauna Finish seals interior surfaces against moisture and dirt.
